A <br />Resolution No. 2005 -37 <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accept the Fair Housing Capacity <br />Building Grant offered to the City by HUD, and to authorize the Mayor to enter into a <br />Cooperative Agreement providing for the receipt and expenditure of grant funds; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, accepts <br />the Fair Housing Capacity Building Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development ( "HUD ") in the amount of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars <br />($120,000) for use in establishing the City's local Fair Housing program, and further <br />authorizes the Mayor, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, to execute a Cooperative <br />Agreement with HUD, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, for the purpose of <br />receiving and expending funds from said Grant, and such further and other agreements <br />with HUD which, from time to time, may be necessary in order to effectuate the purposes <br />of the grant, all following review and approval by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately because of approaching federal deadlines for executing the Cooperative <br />Agreement, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor <br />PASSED: <br />First Reading: tj j� Ds` <br />Second Reading:� <br />Third Reading :�- <br />Committee: <br />AT,TE <br />arbara L.
