CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2005 -19 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING NEW HEALTH CARE BENEFITS <br />FOR NON - BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City and the Unions representing the various bargaining unit <br />employees of the City agreed in 2004 to establish an Employee Health Care Committee <br />charged with the responsibility and authority of establishing a new or revised City health <br />care plan or plans which were competitive in the health care market and further met the <br />stated twin goals of promoting cost containment within the plan or plans and minimizing <br />premium contributions by employees; and. <br />WHEREAS, said Employee Health Care Committee met regularly during the <br />period September 2004 through February 2005, and ultimately voted in February 2005 to <br />revise the City's various health care plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is under an obligation to implement the revised health care <br />plans established by the Employee Health Care Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, the health care benefits for non - bargaining unit employees under the <br />City's previous health care plans were established by Ordinance No. 2000 -33; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to adopt a new ordinance establishing <br />new health care benefits for non - bargaining unit employees of the City consistent with <br />the provisions of the City's newly revised health care plans; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City shall provide either individual or family health care <br />insurance coverage, including medical, vision, and dental benefits, at the employee's <br />option, for each non - bargaining unit employee whose office or position is set forth in <br />Exhibit A attached. Such health care insurance coverage offered shall be in accordance <br />with the health care plan or plans most recently established by the Employee Health Care <br />Committee, except for coverages or benefits not available to non - bargaining unit <br />employees. Employees must participate in a medical plan in order to also qualify to <br />participate in a vision and/or dental plan. <br />
