CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2005 -15 BY: Mayor Musial AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FOR PLANS EXAMINER AND BACK UP PLANS EXAMINER SERVICES, FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE EXAMINERS SELECTED IN THE RFP PROCESS AND APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF CONTROL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council has previously in the years 2003 and 2004 authorized contracts for outside plans examiners and back -up plans examiners for the City's Building Department without adherence to the City's RFP process, as set forth in Sections 111.03 et seq. of the City's Codified Ordinances, for procuring such personal service contracts; and WHEREAS, the City's contract with the current outside plans examiner and back- up plans examiner for the Building Department expires on June 28, 2005; and WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner, acting in compliance with said Sections 111.03 et seq., has prepared for issuance by the Director of Public Safety a request for proposals for outside plans examiner and back -up plans examiner services for the Building Department; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Safety to request proposals for plans examiner and back -up plans examiner services for the Building Department, in accordance with the request for proposals prepared by the Building Commissioner; and further to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the examiners selected in the RFP process and approved by the Board of Control; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he hereby is authorized to request proposals for plans examiner and back -up plans examiner services for the City Building Department in accordance with the request for proposals prepared by the Building Commissioner for a period of two years commencing June 28, 2005. A copy of said request for proposals is attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A.
