? . .: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 111 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />(CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2008 FOR A PROJECT TO <br />RECONSTRUCT TWO SEGMENTS OF KENNEDY RIDGE ROAD; <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CITY FUNDS AS THE LOCAL <br />MATCH; FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE <br />GRANT IF AWARDED IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2006-66, a <br />Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) during fiscal years 2007-2009; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing was conducted, has determined that the <br />City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recoinmending the above entitled project, which involves reconstructing two segments of <br />Kennedy Ridge Road, one immediately east and the other immediately west of the I-480 Great <br />Northern Boulevard Interchange, together totaling approximately 3,854 linear feet, and at a total <br />engineering estimated cost for construction of approximately Two Hundred Thirty-Seven <br />Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($237,500.00), plus additional funding as yet undetermined for <br />project administration; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that the project to reconstruct Kennedy Ridge Road, <br />is eligible for funding through the Community Development Block Grant Competitive Municipal <br />Grant Program funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and <br />administered for the City of North Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, said project includes applying for up to t:he maximum award of a tier two <br />CDBG municipal grant in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) for such <br />oroj ect; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning to make application for said CDBG partial funding for said project, to authorize the use <br />of matching funds in the approximate amount of One Hundred Thirty-Seven Thousand Five <br />Hundred Dollars ($137,500.00) for construction costs and an additional presently undetermined <br />amount for project administration costs, and to authorize the Mayor to accept the CDBG grant if <br />awarded in the said maximum amount; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND ST.ATE OF OHIO: <br />
