<br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 109 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />-?. <br />4 <br />A RESOLUTIDNACCEPTINGA FAIR HOUSING CAPACITY <br />BUILDING GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OFHOiISING <br />AND URBAN DE VELOPMENT ("HUD "), A UTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH <br />HUD PROVIDING FOR THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF <br />FUNDS FROM SAID GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City first adopted a local Fair Housing Code on September 17, <br />1996 (Ordinance No. 1996-154); and <br />WHEREAS, thereafter, HUD determined that the City's Fair Housing ordinance <br />was substantially equivalent with federal law requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, in the year 2004, the North Olmsted Fair Housing Review Board <br />initiated discussions with HUD officials for implementation of a local fair housing <br />program with federal funding assistance for capacity building; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of this board initiative, HUD offered to the City an <br />interim referral agreement for execution, and the City, cvith this Council's authorization <br />(Resolution No. 2004-123), executed an interim referral agreement with HUD in <br />December 2004, providing for HUD to refer to the Administrator of the City's Fair <br />Housing Review Board fair housing complaints arising within the City of North Olmsted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, following execution of the said Interim Referral Agreement, HUD <br />officials have procured and offered to the City of North Olmsted a Cooperative <br />Agreement for Fair Housing Capacity Building Grant in the amount of One Hundred <br />Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) to assist the City in establishing its local fair <br />housing program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accept the Cooperative Agreement <br />offered to the City by HUD, and to authorize the Mayor to enter into a Cooperative <br />Agreement providing for the receipt and expenditure of grant funds; <br />NO W THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL vED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
