<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 70 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR OF THE DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES <br />TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />JUVENILE COURT FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR <br />PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS FOR THE COMMUNITY <br />DIVERSION PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO <br />EXECUTE A CONTRACT IF REQUIRED; FINALLY <br />AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE DIVISION <br />OF YOUTH SERVICES TO EXECUTE ALL OTHER <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE RECEIPT OF <br />THE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, on May 15, 2007, the Administrator of the Division of Youth Services <br />received notification from the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court that the Court was making <br />available a total of $95,000 in funding provided to it by the Family and Children First Council to <br />be awarded on a competitive basis to community diversion programs in Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the County conducted a meeting for the purpose of providing information on <br />application procedures on May 23, 2007, and, among other information provided, stated that <br />applications were to be filed by May 31, 2007, that funds would be awarded for a project period <br />of July l, 2007 through July 1, 2008; and that submitted proposals would be reviewed and <br />awarded prior to July 1, 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, following the said meeting, the Administrator of the Division of Youth <br />Services, believing it to be in the best interests of the City to do so, timely submitted an <br />application for said additional funding to support and expand intervention services for juveniles <br />involved in the Community Diversion Program during the project period; and <br />WHEREAS, this program does not require any matching funds by the City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to retroactively authorize the Administrator of <br />the Division of Youth Services to file the said application for funding with the Cuyahoga County <br />Juvenile Court; to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a <br />contract if required; and to finally authorize the Administrator to execute all other documents <br />necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />
