- , <br />C,(?rlvc' <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 202 <br />BY: Council Member Gareau <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LA W TO PROCEED WITH <br />NEGOTIATIONS WITH PROPERTY OWNERS OF ONE OR MORE SITES THAT <br />HAVE BEENIDENTIFIED AS ACCEPTABLE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />AND BY THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR <br />REPLACEMENT FIRE STATIONNO. 2, AND DECLARING ANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, North Olmsted voters, at the November 2004 general election, authorized <br />the issuance of bonds for the purpose of constructing, furnishing, equipping and otherwise <br />improving a new fire station, providing fire apparatus and equipment to be housed therein, and <br />acquiring, preparing and otherwise improving real estate and interests therein for its site; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Fire Department has reviewed studies and conducted its <br />own studies relating to the appropriate location and necessary acreage for the site of the new fire <br />station, which will be a replacement Fire Station No. 2; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Fire Department, through such studies, identified four <br />properties or groups of properties that could serve as suitable sites for replacement Fire Station <br />No. 2; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission, at its regular meeting of December 14, <br />2004, recommended that the Administration pursue land acquisition for replacement Fire Station <br />No. 2 in accordance with the studies and recommendations of the North Olmsted Fire <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, on , 200_, approved the said <br />recommendation of the City Planning Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Law, in <br />accordance with the recommendations of the North Olmsted Fire Department, the City Planning <br />Commission, and this Council, to proceed with negotiations related to land acquisition for <br />replacement Fire Station No. 2; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Law be and he is hereby authorized to proceed with <br />negotiations related to land acquisition for replacement Fire Station No. 2, in accordance with the <br />recommendations of the North Olmsted Fire Department, the City Planning Commission, and <br />this Council. Said negotiations shall be conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions
