CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 201 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOL UTION EXTENDING THE PUBLIC TRANSPOR TA TION OPERATING <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND THE <br />GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY THROUGH <br />MARCH 31, 2005, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority ("Authority") was <br />established in 1975 for the purpose of providing public transportation throughout Cuyahoga <br />County, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, since 1931, has owned and operated the North <br />Olmsted Municipal Bus Line ("NOMBL"), which has provides bus transportation services in the <br />western suburbs of Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted and the Authority have been parties to a Public <br />Transportation Operating Agreement, which has been renewed continuously since 1975, <br />providing for NOMBL to continue to provide the suburban bus transportation services that it has <br />provided since 1931; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted and the Authority most recently entered into a <br />renewed five-year Public Transportation Operating Agreement, pursuant to authorization granted <br />by this Council in Ordinance No. 1999-168, adopted on December 29, 1999; and <br />WHEREAS the said renewed Public Transportation Operating Agreement between the <br />Authority and the City of North Olmsted will expire on December 31, 2004, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted and the Authority are presently involved in <br />negotiations regarding the possible acquisition of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line by the <br />Authority, or a renewal of the five-year Public Transportation Operating Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties have determined that it is in their best interests to extend the <br />present Public Transportation Operating Agreement while negotiating terms and conditions of a <br />possible acquisition agreement, or renewal agreement. <br />NO W THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted be and he is hereby <br />authorized to execute an extension of the Public Transportation Operating Agreement between <br />the City of North Olmsted and the Authority, dated January 12, 2000, for a period of three (3) <br />months through March 31, 2005, in the form and substance of the document attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A. <br />.... crMf'a sn?ttw?. ?,?, rv+^m+?? . a?•? ^? dk . ek* . . . . , c .q..e'. ,. r^ _ - _ -. ..
