CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2004 -198 BY: Mayor Musial AN ORDINANCE A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FROM CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRMS FOR PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE NEW FIRE STATION NO. 2 PROJECT, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFP PROCESS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS A11ifFNnRn WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared a request for proposals from construction management firms for construction management services for the New Fire Station No. 2 Proj ect; and WHEREAS, upon review, it is the desire of this Council that the proposals requested should include alternative proposals for such services to be provided on either a part-time or full-time basis, depending upon whether the Citv ultimatelv elects to construct the new fire station, after completion of competitive bidding, by contracting with a general contractor or, instead, with individual contractors representin2 the various trades; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to request proposals for said professional services in accordance with the revised request for proposals materials prepared by the City Engineer; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he hereby is authorized to request proposals ("RFP") from construction management firms for construction management services on alternativelv either a part-time or full-time basis, in accordance with the revised Request for Proposals (attached hereto as Exhibit A), for the New Fire Station No. 2 Project.
