.? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004 -185 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 143.01 AND 153.01 OF <br />THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />ASSIGNING THE PART-TIME DUTIES OF CIVIL SERVICE <br />COMMISSION SECRETARY TO THE FULL-TIME CLERICAL <br />STAFF OF THE DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. <br />WHEREAS, Article VI, Section 2 of the City Charter authorizes the Civil Service <br />Commission to appoint a Secretary who shall not be a member of the Commission, but <br />whom may hold other municipal office or employment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Clerk of Commissions presently performs secretarial duties for <br />the Civil Service Commission, because the Civil Service Commission has failed to make <br />a separate appointment of its own pursuant to Article VI, Section 2 of the Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, on the recommendation of the <br />Directors of Planning and Personnel and Administrative Services, and in order to <br />improve efficiency in the delivery of clerical services to the Civil Service Commission, <br />where the Civil Service Commission has not appointed a Secretary pursuant to its own <br />authority, to authorize the Directar of Personnel and Administrative Services to assign <br />such secretarial duties to a member of his or her clerical staff; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLSMTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 143.01 of the City Administrative Code, entitled <br />"Clerk of Commissions," which presently reads as follows: <br />"143.01 CLERK OF COMMISSIONS. <br />(a) There is hereby created the full-time position of Clerk of <br />Commissions, which shall be appointed by and be answerable to the <br />Director of Planning. <br />(b) The Clerk of Commissions shall be required to attend all <br />meetings, prepare and type minutes of such meetings, and perform other <br />duties consistent with expediting the duties performed by the various City <br />boards and commissions. The Director of Planning may from time to time <br />require the Clerk of Commissions to perform additional duties consistent <br />with the position."
