Should a City owned trap be provided as stated above, said trap will be provided for a period <br />not to exceed five regular working days during periods of time a waiting list exists. During time <br />periods that no waiting list exists, said trap may be provided for longer periods of time at the <br />discretion of the Dog/Animal Warden. <br />Upon notice from the resident or business owner that a cat is secured in the trap, the <br />Dog/Animal Warden will promptly respond to the locatian of the trap and if in the opinion of the <br />DoglAnimal Warden, said cat is andlor appears to be a pet, he/she shall impound said cat in <br />the City kennel for the appropriate time period, All unclaimed cats that have been impounded <br />and shall after the impoundment period remains unclaimed, shall be transported by the <br />Dog/Animal Warden to the North Olmsted City kennel for proper disposition. A cat that appears <br />to be wild in the opinion of the Dog/Animal Warden, he/she shall not impound said cat, but <br />promptly transport said cat to the North Olmsted City kennel for proper dispasition. <br />Upon receiving notice that a wild animal is caught in a residents or business owner's own trap, <br />the Dog/Animal Warden will provide a list of individuals or firms that handle and dispose of wild <br />animals to the complainant. <br />Will in circumstances where a healthy and/or apparently sick wiid animal is creating a condition <br />upon any public street, public right-of-way or upon private property where the health and <br />welfare of residents or other persons are jeopardized in the opinion of the Dog/Animal <br />Warden's supervisor or the Police Department. He/she shall respond to the location of the <br />animal along with the Police Chief or his designated representative. If in the opinion of the <br />Dog/Animal Warden a privafe individual or firm fhat handled and disposes of wild animals can <br />remove and property dispose of the animal, he/she shall make that recommentlation known to <br />the Police Chief or his designee and provide #he Police Chief or his designee with a list of <br />individuals or firms that handle and dispose of wild animals. In situations where the wild animal <br />is located on private property, the private property owner/complainant shall then be directed by <br />the Dog Warden to call any one of the individuals or firms listed for the removal and disposal of <br />the animal, <br />ln instances that the Dog/Animal Warden does not believe the healthy and or sick wild animaf <br />can be removed the public streets, right-of ways or private property and disposed of by an <br />individual or firm that handles wild animals, he/she shall make that recommendation known to <br />the Police Chief or his designee. If in the opinian of the Dog/Animal Warden the use of deadly <br />force is the only reasonable means of removing the wifd animal, he/she shall make known that <br />recommendation to the Police Chief or his designee. The final decision for the use of deadly <br />force shall rest with the Police Chief or his designee and the actual use of deadly force shall be <br />carried out by the Chief of Police or by another full-time sworn representative of the North <br />Olmsted Police Department. <br />92 <br />
