designee or a sworn representative of the Police Department and in the opinion of the <br />Dog/Animal Warden the animal can't be subdued using conventional methods and equipment, <br />he/she shall advise the Police Chief, his designee or a sworn representative of the Police <br />Department of the situation. He/she shall respond to the location of the animal along with the <br />Police Chief or his designated representative. If in the opinion of the DoglAnimal Warden, <br />deadly force is the only means of safely handling the situation and bring it to a conclusion, <br />he/she shall make that recommendation known ta the Chief of Police, his designee or a sworn <br />representative of the Police Department. The final decision for the use of deadly force will be <br />made by the Chief of Police or his designee representative and carried out by a full-time sworn <br />representative of the Police Department. <br />Will respond to all complaints regarding wild animals as specified below. <br />Will in cases of wild animals biting humans, he/she shall if the location of the animal is known, <br />recomrnend to the Chief of Police or his designated representative that the animal be destroyed <br />and helshe shall transfer its remains to a medical facility for the purpose of determining if the <br />animal is diseased. The final decision for the use of deadly force wi11 be made by the Chief of <br />Police or his designee representative and carried out by a full-time sworn representative of the <br />Police Department. <br />Will compile a list of all individuals or firms that handle wild animals such as but not limited to <br />skunks, raccoons, squirrels, opossum, and furnish such list to all residents or business owners <br />that may be having a problem with such wild animals. He/she will furnish such list to all <br />residents or business owners that have or intend to trap such wild animals with the own traps. <br />Will upon request from a resident or business awner; the DoglAnimal Warden provide a City <br />owned trap to a resident that wishes to trap cats. Said trap will only be provided upon request <br />of a resident or business owner and upon availability of such trap. He/she will provide the <br />requesting resident or business owner a copy of the aforementioned list of individuals or firms <br />that hantlle and dispose of wild animals at the time said trap is delivered to the resident or <br />business owner. This is to be done without exception to insure that the resident or business <br />owner is aware of ths proper disposition, should a wild animal be caught in the trap which was <br />intended to trap a cat. No City owned trap is to be left without first giving the resident or <br />business owner the above referenced list. <br />Upon delivery of a City owned trap to a resident or business owner, will advise the individual <br />receiving such trap the proper manner of setting the trap and will further suggest the type of bait <br />to be used in the trapping process. Helshe will also atlvise and instruct the individual receiving <br />said trap, that all traps are to be closed to prevent animal access during weekends. <br />91
