<br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABL/SH/NG THE RANGE OF COMPENSAT/ON RATES AND SALARY
<br />RANGES FOR THE VARIOUS ADM/NISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE PERSONNEL FOR THE
<br />YEARS 2005, 2006 AND 2007, ALSO AMENDING SECTIONS 13, 18, 19, 20, 22 AND 23 RELATING
<br />TO COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR SA/D PERSONNEL, AND DECLARING AN
<br />EMERGENCY, AS TWICE AMENDED.
<br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish new compensation rate ranges for the City's various
<br />administrative and legislative personnel for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007; and
<br />WHEREAS, in order to establish new and changed benefits for the City's administrative and legislative personnel
<br />which are more similar to the,benefits received by the City's bargaining unit employees, it is further the desir-e of this
<br />Council to amend Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 23 of the current salary range ordinance, which presently read as
<br />follows:
<br />"Section 13: That the following salary ranges are hereby established for various employees in the Police
<br />and Fire Departments. The salaries in this Section shall be established by the Director of Public Safety and
<br />the Mayor as appropriate.

<br />D. In addition to the salaries as specified herein, the Chief of Police, Chief of Fire and Assistant Chief of
<br />Fire shall be entitled to any and all benefits afforded the members of each of their respective
<br />departments, except that the Chief of Police and Chief of Fire, as expressly provided in Section 18 of
<br />this Ordinance, and the Assistant Fire Chief if this latter position in the future is determined by the City to
<br />be FLSA exempt, shall not be entitled to overtime pay or comp time benefits.
<br />Section 18: That upon the approval of the Mayor or respective Director, all full-time personnel listed within this
<br />Ordinance, with the exception oS` ihose holding Elected or Director positions, Police Chief and Fire Chief listed in this
<br />Ordinance will be paid time and one-half of their straight time rates of pay for hours worked in excess of eight (8)
<br />hours in any one day; and time and one-half of their straight time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40)
<br />hours in any one work week. Double time shall be paid to said employees for Sundays and Holidays provided they
<br />have worked at least forty (40) hours in any one work week.
<br />Section 19: That all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance having completed five (5) years of full-time
<br />service as an employee of the city shall be paid an additional four percent (4%) of their base annual salary;
<br />thereafter until completion of their tenth (10th) year of full-time service after which such employee shall receive five
<br />percent (5%) of their base annual salary; thereafter until completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full-time service,
<br />such employee shall receive six percent (6%) of their base annual salary; until after the completion of the twentieth
<br />(20th) year of full-time service, and during each year of full-time service thereafter, they shall receive seven percent
<br />(7%) of their base annual salary as longevity increments.
