aa-4,ttl (I/.'A // t) .i - <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -148 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />WESTSHORE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS ("WCOG') AND THE <br />CITIES OF BAY YILLAGE, LAKEWOOD, ROCKYRIVER, FAIRVIEW <br />PARK, AND WESTLAgE, PROVIDING FOR WCOG TO ESTABLISH <br />AND OPERATE A CENTRAL FIRE DISPATCH CENTER AT ST. <br />JOHN WEST SHORE HOSPITAL AND FOR NORTH OLMSTED'S <br />PARTICIPATION IN THE CENTRAL FIRE DISPATCH CENTER, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has been a member of the Westshore Council of <br />Governments ("WCOG"), which includes the cities of Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, <br />Westlake, North Olmsted, and Rocky River, since 1971; and <br />N'HEREAS, for the past year WCOG has been reviewing and planning for the <br />establishment and operation of a central fire dispatch center at St. John West Shore Hospital in <br />Westlake, Ohio, to serve the WCOG and other surrounding communities; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to execute an <br />agreement with the said WCOG and the cities of Bay Village, Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairview <br />Park, and Westlake, providing for WCOG to establish and operate such a central fire dispatch <br />center, and for North Olmsted's participation in such central fire dispatch center; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute an agreement <br />with the Westshore Council of Governments ("WCOG"), and the cities of Bay Village, <br />Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairview Park, and Westlake, providing WCOG to establish and <br />operate a central fire dispatch center at St. John West Shore Hospital, in Westlake, Ohio, and for <br />North Olmsted's participation in such central fire dispatch center, in the form and substance of <br />the agreement attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, with only such changes therein as are not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character <br />of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced <br />conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement <br />by the Director of Law.
