CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -143 <br />By: Council Member Limpert <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005 FOR PARKING AREA <br />IMPROVEMENTS AT THE NORTH OLMSTED MiILTl-SERVICE SENIOR <br />CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, by and through Resolution No. 2003-30, a Citizens <br />Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG); and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing conducted on August 24, 2004, has <br />determined that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recomrnending the above entitled project application; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has designated that the parking area and drive project for the North <br />Olmsted Multi-Service Senior Center is eligible for funding throu,gh the Community <br />Development Block Crrant program funded by the United States Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development and administered for the City of North Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of applying for up to the maximum award of $150,000; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, these projects will provide compliance with the Low and Moderate Income <br />national objective of CDBG funding within an improvement target area; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to make <br />application for CDBG funding for said projects; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
