CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -136 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A NEW AND REVISED RESOLUTION APPROVING OF AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE AMERICAN <br />FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL <br />EMPLOYEES ("AFSCME"), OHIO COUNCIL 8, LOCAL 2681 <br />FOR THE CITY'S SERVICE UNIT EMPLOYEES, FOR THE <br />PERIOD JULY 1, 2004 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2007 AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation <br />calling for collective bargaining agreements with public employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees <br />("AFSCME"), Ohio Council8, Loca12681, has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining <br />agent for the City's Service Unit employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has conducted interest-based bargaining this year with <br />the members of said bargaining unit and has concluded that IBB process with an agreement <br />that is satisfactory to the Administration and the bargaining unit; and <br />N'HEREAS, this Council, on August 17, 2004, disapproved Resolution No. 2004-125, <br />thereby rejecting the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the Administration; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration thereafter conducted further negotiations with <br />AFSCME Loca12681, and has presented to Council a revised collective bargaining agreement, <br />which is acceptable to the Administration and this Council; and <br />N'HEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve of and authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into a collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME, Ohio Council 8, Loca12681 on <br />behalf of the said Service Unit employees, for the period July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by and between the <br />Administration and AFSCME, Ohio Council8, Local 2681, on behalf of the City's Service <br />Unit employees, a copy of which is attached to this legislation as "Exhibit A," is approved and <br />the Mayor is authorized to execute the said Agreement. <br />3??F...ix.,, , ...?..? ...
