AGREEMENT <br />ARTICLE 1 PURPOSE <br />Section 1. This Agreement is made befinreen the Cifiy of North Olmsted, hereinafter referred to <br />as the "City, and Ohio Council 8 and Local No. 2681 of the American Federation of State, <br />Counfy, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the "Union'. The purpose <br />of this Agreement is to provide a fair and reasonable method of enabfing empioyees covered by <br />this Agreement to participate through Union representation in the establishment of terms and <br />conditions and of their employment, including rates of pay, wages, hours and working conditions, <br />and to establish a peaceful procedure for the resolufion of all differences between the parties. <br />ARTICLE 2 _RECOGNITION <br />Section 1. The Union is recognized as the sole and exclusive representative of the duration of <br />this Agreement fior the employees in the job classification listed in Exhibits B-1 through B-19, <br />and the City will not recognize any other Union, organization or person as the representative for <br />any employees within such classifications Nothing herein shall prevent individual employees <br />from discussing terms and conditions of employment now covered by this Agreement with the <br />City, however, such cammunication shall not be used to undermine the position of the Union as <br />the representative of the employees. <br />ARTtCLE 3 NON DISCRIMINATION <br />Section 1. Both the City and the Unian recognize their respective responsibilities under the <br />federal and state civil rights laws, fair employment practice acts and other similar constitutional <br />and statutory requirements.
