EXHIBIT B-10 CONTINUED OPERATOR <br />• Inspects and checks out grit equipment for proper operation; starts grit coliectors; <br />removes grit and debris from grit hoppers. <br />• Removes scum from primary tanks, draws sludge and pumps into sludge hoiding tanks; <br />washes down tanks; pertorms faboratory tests as directed; maintains monitoring watch <br />over operation during shift, and assists in the maintenance of shift operation reports. <br />• Assists other operators and maintenance personnel in switching pumps, transferring <br />sludge; charging chemical hoppers and mixing chamber; cleaning and maintaining plant <br />equipment and facilities. • Subject to 24- hour call during emergency situations. <br /> <br />• Pertorms related work as required. <br />DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE. ABILIT(ES AND SKILLS: <br />• Some knowledge of the specific operations, and service requiremenfis of the major items <br />of pump and treatment plant. <br />• Some knowledge of the fundamental processes involved in the pumping, treatment, and <br />disposal of wastewater. <br />• Ability to inspect operating mechanical and electrical equipment; to detect minor, flaws <br />and defects in its operation; and to effect appropriate remedial measures when <br />necessary. <br />• Ability to read meters and charts accurately and to maintain routine records af shift <br />operations. <br />• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. <br />• Ability to make mathematical computations with speed and accuracy. <br />• Ability to perform moderately heavy manual work. <br />?
