0 , . <br />EXHIBIT B-19 <br />JOB CLASSIFICATION LEAD MECHANIC <br />RESPONSIBLE TO FLEET MANAGER <br />CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES OF THE CLAS SIFICATION: <br />Employees within this job classification are required to service, repair, overhaul and maintain <br />gasoline and diesel equipment used by the City. <br />Employees within the job classification Lead mechanic shall repair, service, <br />overhaul and maintain gasoline and diesel equipment, including but not limited to <br />autornobiles, trucks with a GVW of more than 26,000 pounds, trucks with a GVW of <br />less than 26000 pounds, bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders and other <br />types of on road and off road equipment. <br />- Employees within the job classification Lead Mechanic must have a thorough <br />knowledge of all equipment and be able to guide Mechanics and Mechanic's Helpers <br />in the proper repair procedures. <br />- Employees within the job classification Lead Mechanic sha11 be required to perform <br />welding, some bodywork, and spray painting of vehicle sand equipment as required. <br />- Employees within the job classification Lead Mechanic sha.ll work under limited <br />general supervision and is responsible for the organization of his work assignments <br />with instructions available from the Fleet Manager for out of the ordinary situations <br />and problems. <br />- Employees within the job classification Lead Mechanic shall perform other duties as <br />assigned, within the general character and scope of the duties described above. <br />Employees shall be reguired to maintain a valid cammercials drivers' license at all times. <br />81
