* <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -131 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING OF AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF <br />FIRE FIGHTERS ("IAFF'), LOCAL 1267, FOR THE CITY'S <br />FIRE FIGHTERS, FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2004 <br />THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2006 AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation <br />calling for collective baxgaining agreements with public employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the International Association of Fire Fighters ("IAFF"), Local 1267, has <br />been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the City's Fire Fighters; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration conducted negotiations with the members of said <br />bargaining unit from October 2003 to 7anuary 2004, agreeing with the bargaining unit <br />representatives on many issues, but ultimately submitting several issues to fact-finding for <br />report and recommendation; and <br />WHEREAS, a fact-finding hearing was held before Fact-Finder Harry Crraham, a <br />report with recommendations on the submitted issues was issued by Fact-Finder Graham, and <br />the Fact-Finder's report was ultimately accepted by this City Council and by the members of <br />IAFF Local 1267; and <br />WHEREAS, as above noted, the Administration negotiated an agreement with IAFF <br />Local 1267 on all other issues that were the subject of collective bargaining between the <br />Administration and IAFF Loca1 1267, that was satisfactory to the Administration and to the <br />IAFF bargaining unit members; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve of and authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into a collective bargaining agreement IAFF, Local 1267, on behalf of the City's Fire <br />Fighters, for the period 7anuary 1, 2004 through December 31, 2006; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the collective bargaining ageement negotiated by and between the <br />Administration and the International Association of Fire Fighters ("IAFF"), Local 1267, on <br />behalf of the City's Fire Fighters, including all recommendations of Fact Finder Harry Graham,
