It is understaod that the attendance will not be approved if it will incur overtime, at the time the approvai is granted. Additional time may be granted at the sole discretion of the Fire Chief. ARTICLE XXIV HOURS OF WORK 24.1 Beginning January 1, 1993 and continuing thraugh December 31, 2002, the basic work week for Empioyees assigned to platoon duty shait be an average of 51.7 hours. Beginning January l, 2003, the basic work week for Line Personnel assigned to platonn duty shall be an average of 50.4 hours. 24.2 Empioyees assigned to Fire Prevention duty shall work a forty hour week. 24.3 Twenty-four hour shifts shall commence at 0800 hows in accordance with the Normal Work Schedule. 24.4 In order to facilitate the work week of 51.7 hours effective January 1, 1993, Employees shall be entitled to additional time off with pay, known as Keliey Days. All Kelley Days shall be taken during the yeaz of enfitlement, shall not accrue from year to year, and shall be selected by the Employer. In order to facilitate the work week of 50.4 hours effective Ianuary 1, 2003, Line Personnet shall be entitled to additional time off with pay, known as Keltey Days. All Kelley Days shall be taken during the year of entitlement, shall not accrue from year to year, and shall be selected by the Employer. 24.5 The Employer shall annualty provide each Employee with a thirteen (13) shift cycle schedule commencing on January 1, 1993, and indicate the thirteen (13) shift cycles in which the Employer has scheduled his Kelley Days. 24.6 The Employer shall annually provide each Employee with a ten (10) shiR cycle schsdule commencing on January l, 2003, and indicate the ten (10) shift cycles in which the Employer has scheduled his Kelley Days. 38
