CitY of North Olmsted, Nq/ xxx xxxx AO"k 45 <br />Section VI: HARDWARE ISSUES <br />A. VENDOR AS PRIME HARDWARE CONTRACTOR <br />VENDOR agrees to be the prime contractor for all hardware-related issues. The <br />VENDOR will acquire, deliver, install and certify the proper operation of the <br />equipment on a turnkey basis. This includes: <br />• Acting as a single point of contact for equipment-related installation and <br />integration issues, and hardware service and support issues, for all items <br />purchased from VENDOR; <br />• Perform pre-site inspection and advise the CITY of any site preparation <br />requirements related to electrical, cable plant, or environmental issues; <br />• Properly design, configure, install, optimize, certify and document the <br />network servers, system consoles, network connectivity equipment <br />(switches, hubs, modems), power conditioning equipment, network <br />operating systems, mail servers, print servers, RAID disk mirroring and <br />recovery systems, workstations, and cash stations; <br />• Properly design, configure, install, certify and document cabling <br />according to cable installation standards. This will include labeling all <br />cable ends and punch blocks, certifying transmission quality through <br />documented tests; and producing a diagram of all cable locations and <br />terminations. <br />• Configure, install, certify, and document system administration (system <br />parameters, user setup, group setup, menus, users, rights and system <br />security, print spooling, automated backup scripts and recovery <br />procedures); <br />• Coordinate all warranty returns or service requests; <br />• Demonstrate system connectivity and performance according to <br />acceptance criteria; <br />• Perform bi-annual maintenance to include inspection, error correction, <br />and optimization. <br />B. HARDWARE WARRANTIES <br />VENDOR warrants that all hardware supplied in the proposal shall be new hardware. <br />CITY shall not accept used or remanufactured hardware. The hardware warranty to <br />include on site maintenance for all equipment listed in Exhibits. The proposal and <br />exhibits define exactly which units have one year or more of on-site maintenance or <br />other time-specific on-site warranties. All other hardware is warranted on a return to <br />manufacturer basis, including all labor and repair without any maintenance charge for <br />one full year from the manufacturer's date of delivery to CITY. If a particular <br />component carries a manufacturer's warranty in excess of one year, the extended <br />warranty will apply.
