<br />Ordinance No. 2004-4 <br />(b) The Division of Information Systems shall be headed by, and there is hereby created, <br />the position of Network Administrator. The Network Administrator shall be a full-time <br />employee appointed by the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services. <br />(c) The Network Administrator shall have the following duties: <br />To review the electronic data processing needs of each department and <br />division within the City, and the overall needs of the City itself to have <br />coordinated and unified processing, sharing and retention of records and <br />information; <br />After first communicating with the department and division heads, to <br />assess and determine the electronic data processing requirements for <br />each department and division within the City; <br />To approve, or disapprove, all electronic data processing purchase <br />requests, hardware and software, of each department and division in the <br />City; provided, however, that he shall first consult with the Director of <br />Personnel and Administrative Services and obtain the Director's consent, <br />prior to approving or disapproving any such request; <br />To insure that the electronic data processing equipment of each <br />department and division of the City is compatible with that being used by <br />the other departments and divisions within the City, and that the <br />purchases being made are consistent with the goal of achieving <br />coordinated and unified processing, sharing and retention of records and <br />information; <br />To oversee and perform maintenance and repairs to the City's computers <br />and computer network system, inctuding system confguration, <br />troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring, and the development of <br />specialized programs; and <br />To perform such additional in-house duties relating to electronic data <br />processing within the City government as may be assigned by the <br />Director of Personnel and Administrative Services. <br />SECTION 3: That any Ordinance or any part of any Ordinance, inconsistent or in <br />conflict with this Ordinance is, to the extent of any such inconsistency or conflict, hereby <br />repealed. <br />SECTION 4: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately because of the <br />January 9, 2004 departure of the Commissioner of Data Processing and the City's needs to keep <br />its computer network up and running in order to conduct City business, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />2 <br />? ..?..,?. ??,:. . ? _ .. :'r,"
