employment. <br />(R) Full time employees who have completed eighteen full years of employment are entitlacl <br />to five weeks vacation; said vacation shall be taken during the nineteenth year of <br />employment <br />(S) Full time employees who have completed nineteen full years of employment are entitled <br />to five weeks vacation; said vacation shall be taken during and after the twentieth year <br />of emptoyment. <br />(T) Full time employees who have completed twenty years through infinity are entitled to six <br />weeks vacation; said vacation shall be taken during the twenty first year <br />and ail subsequent years thereafter. <br />Section 23.03 Any employee who resigns without giving at least ten (10) working days written notice <br />to the Transit Department shall forfeit any unused vacation and holidays, or pay in lieu thereof. <br />Section 23.04 If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or involuntarily, other than for disciplinary <br />reasons) prior to taking his vacation and has completed one (1) year of employment <br />with the City, he shall receive the prarated portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the time <br />of separation. In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation shall be paid to the estate. <br />Section 23.05 Employees of the Tmnsit Department hired after August l, 1997, shall not be ccedited <br />for any employment time or service with any other political subdivision, school system, state, etc. other <br />than the City of North Olmsted, for years of service when calcuiating vacation eligibility as an employee <br />of the City of North Olmsted; provided, however, that emptoyees hired after December 31, 2003, in <br />addition to the foregoing, shall also be credited with empioyment time or service with GCRTA or Maple <br />Heights Transit. <br />A. Employees hired from either the GCRTA or Maple Heights Transit after December <br />31, 2003, will not be eligible to take any vacation until one year of continuous service <br />with NOMBL has been completed. <br />Section 23.06 Any fuil-time employee who is eligibie for vacation allowance may at the time of <br />vacation picic hold one week of vacation for payment (at a predetermined date at least 14 days prior to the <br />applicable pay period) or for a future available week. In each year the full time employee who held one <br />week must accept payment for that week to be posted by no later than December 1, and paid before the <br />final payroll is issued that yeaz. A week is defined as forty (40) hours. <br />ARTICLE 24 <br />HEALTH INSURANCE <br />Section 24A1 The Employer shall provide either individuat ar family medical insurance <br />coverage, at the employees option for each full time employee. The employer shall have the <br />option of seeking altemate health insurance providers or plans and will attempt to offer at <br />least two different plans. Basic hospitatization will be consistent with and similar to those <br />plans offered on July 1, 1994. Basic hospitalization wi(1 be that offered to other employees <br />of the City of North Olmsted. The employer has the right to negotiate co-payment and <br />prescription drug rates with providers to lower the cost to the employer as well as the <br />employee contribution. <br />22
