Floating Holiday <br />*Floating holidays may be used anytime during the calendar year, subject to Section 25.05. <br />**The change in annual holida.ys from Easter to Martin Luther King Day shall become effective in 2005. <br />Further, because GCRTA requires a weekday schedule an Martin Luther King Day, it shall be treated as <br />a regulaz work day. Employees who work on Martin Luther King Day shall accordingly receive only their <br />regular pay and holiday pay, rather than time and one-half and holiday pay as provided for certain other <br />holidays enumerated below. <br />If any full-time employee is required to work on any of the following eight (8) Holidays: New Year's Day, <br />Memorial Day, Independence Day, I,abor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or the days an <br />employee observes his birthday or employment anniversary day, then the employee shall be paid time and <br />one-half for such work in addition to the holiday pay. <br />Section 25.02 The use of holiday time by fuli-time employees shall be subject to the Employer's <br />administrative rules and regulations. When an observed holiday falls on the first day of a weekend, the <br />holiday will be celebrated on the da.y preceding the weekend. When a holiday falls on the second day of a <br />weekend the hoiiday will be celebrated on the day succeeding the weekend. If a holiday occurs while an <br />emptoyee is on vacation leave, the employee may either receive the extra eight (8) hours holiday pay or <br />pick another day off. <br />Section 25.03 For an employee to receive holiday pay he must work the camplete scheduled day <br />preceding and the complete scheduled day following the holiday. If an employee fails to work he shall <br />forfeit his holiday pay. Employees who call in sick for the holiday, shall also forfeit the holiday pay. <br />Holiday pay and sick leave shall not be paid on the same day. Management discretion may be used in this <br />section for special situations. <br />Section 25.04 All full-time employees shall give at teast seven (7) days advance written notice to <br />receive consideration for a floating holiday. Floating holidays requested witl be approved by seniority. <br />Section 25A5 The use of the floating holidays wili be permitted at any time; provided it does <br />not conflict with primary vacation selections or does not create a scheduling problem. <br />ARTICLE 26 <br />INCENTIVE PROGRAM <br />25
