A full-time employee will receive two (2) days (which may be taken as time off, subject to driver <br />availability; or for an extra sixteen (16) hours pay) for each six (6) consecutive months af Perfect <br />Attendance. The first six (6) month period shall be from January 1 to June 30, and the second six-month <br />period from July 1 to December 31. This incentive days, after earned, will be taken in the fotlowing six <br />(6) month period from the time earned and may not be accumulated. Perfect Attendance is defined as <br />meaning that the employee works every day he is scheduled to work. This further means that there is no <br />sick leave, no suspensions withoat pay, no non-working misses for bus opera.tors, no personal days off <br />without pay and no more than one (1) lateness for maintenance employees; used by the before mentioned <br />employee in the six (6) month period. Perfect attendance sha11 not include vacation days, holidays, <br />floating holidays, or incentive days earned in the prior six (6) month period. <br />ARTICLE 27 <br />PENSION <br />The Employer sha11 make payments to the Public Employees Retirement System in accordance with <br />the law. <br />ARTICLE 28 <br />LIFE INSURANCE <br />Section 28.01 After one (1) month of continuous service with the Employer full-time <br />employees of the transit department shall be covered by a twenty thousand dollar ($20,000.) <br />group term life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy at the employers <br />expense for the duration of this contract. <br />Section 28.02 To the extent permitted by the insurance provider's rules, fi.211-time employees <br />may purchase additional tife insurance; which shall be deducted from an employee paycheck. <br />Section 28.03 To the extent permitted by the insurance provider's rules, a full-time employee who <br />leaves his job sha.ll be allowed to convert his group term life policy to an individual policy, <br />at his own expense. <br />ARTICLE 29 <br />PROMOTIONS <br />Within ten (10) days of when a vacancy occurs within a job classification covered by this Agreement, or a <br />new job is created the General Manger or his designce shall post a notice of the opening for seven (7) <br />consecutive calendar days on all NOMBL employee bulletin boards. <br />The notice shall contain the job classification, title, rate of pay and a brief job description. An ernployee <br />may apply for any such opening by filing a written application on forms provided by the City, with the <br />General Manager on or before the last day of the posting period. Any application not timely filed need <br />not be given consideration. <br />AII timely applications wili be reviewed the General Manager or his designee and all applicants who meet <br />the minimum quaiifications will be interviewed. The job shall be awarded within fifteen (15) days to the <br />most senior appiicant, who has the experience skill and ability to perform the work in question. If no <br />employee who applies has the necessary skill or ability the General Manager or his designee shall have <br />the authority to hire outside the bargaining unit. <br />26 <br />
