CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 90 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />RENEWED ONE-YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT WITH STEPHEN <br />CAMPBELL & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE 32 <br />CHANNEL OPTICAL RECORDING EQUIPMENT USED BY THE NORTH <br />OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Stephen Campbell & Associates, Inc. ["Campbell & Associates"], is the <br />cunent contractor providing maintenance services for the 32 channel optical recording <br />equipment used by the North Olmsted police department, and is, in fact, the only contractor <br />capable of providing such services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that this Council authorize the Mayor <br />to enter into a renewed one-year service contract with Campbell & Associates; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the nature of the services being provided, the dollar amount <br />involved, and the fact that the suhject contractor is a sole source provider, it is not legally <br />necessary that this contract be either competitively bid in accordance with the provisions of the <br />City Charter or subject to the City's formal RFP process; and. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendation of the Chief <br />of Police, to authorize the Mayor to enter into a renewed one-year service contract with <br />Campbell & Associates for maintenance of the Police Department's 32 channel optical recording <br />equipment; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLYED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a renewed <br />one-year service contract with Stephen Campbell & Associates, Inc., for maintenance of the <br />Police Department's 32 channel optical recording equipment:, in the amount of Two Thousand <br />Six Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($2,625.00). Said contract shall be substantially in the form of <br />the document attached to this legislation as Exhibit A, with such changes in form and substance <br />that are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The <br />character of the contract as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced <br />conclusively by the execution of the contract by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by <br />the Director of Law. <br />
