CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002 -103 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NOS 94-148 AND 2000- <br />37, ESTABLISHING A NEW FEE AND CHARGES SCHEDULE FOR <br />THE RENDERING OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND <br />AMBULANCE TRANSPORTATION BY THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CREATING A 1?E?'' ??'E?.?AL ' RET?E,IVIIE F'UN? <br />ENTITLED "E1klERGENCi' MEDICAL SEItVICES" FU1ND, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREA.S, this Council originally adopted Ordinance No. 94-148 which established fees <br />and charges for the rendering of emergency medical service and ambulance transportation to non- <br />residents; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council thereafter adopted Ordinance No. 2000-37, which amended <br />Ordinance No. 94-148 so as to amend the fee and charges schedule established in Ordinance No. 94- <br />148; and <br />WHEREAS, it is now the desire of this Council to amend the emergency medical services <br />billing system established by Ordinance No. 94-148, as amended by Ordinance No. 2000-37, to <br />include therein residents who have health insurance coverage which will cover a part or ail of the <br />City's fees and charges for emergency medical services and/or ambulance transportation provided to <br />the resident; and <br />WHEREAS, however, this Council, recognizing that it would inequitable to require residents <br />who akeady pay taxes to the City of North Olmsted, which fund the operations of North Olmsted's <br />emergency services, to pay to the City their deductible or co-pay amount which is not covered by <br />their insurance, desires to exempt such residents from having to pay said deductible or co-pay; and <br />K'HEREAS, this Council desires to repeal Ordinance Nos. 94-148 and 2000-37, so that all <br />of the currents billing system procedures and requirements are contained in a single ordinance, but <br />page 1
