NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor or his designee shall be responsible for the development of <br />collection and billing procedures including the preparation of detailed and accurate invoices listing <br />the charges for emergency medical service and ambulance transportation. All such invoices shall be <br />delivered to each person who received emergency medical service and or ambulance transportation. <br />In the case of a minor receiving emergency medical service and ambulance transportation, such <br />invoice shall be delivered to the known guardian or parent(s) of the minor. <br />The Mayor or his designee may place any delinquent account for collection with the Director <br />of Law or other person approved by ordinance at the request of the Director of Law on a contingency <br />basis. Said attorney involved in the collection of the aforesaid delinquent accounts is authorized to <br />institute legal proceedings in the Municipal Court and pursue lawful proc,eedings in aid of execution <br />upon any judgment. Said attomey is further authorized to settle the City's claims upon whatever <br />terms he deems appropriate, including the acceptance of assignment and or the acceptance of less <br />than the total amount owed. <br />SECTION 2: Emergency medical service and ambulance transportation sha11 be <br />provided by the City to the extent that manpower and equipmeirt is available and capable of providing <br />emergency medical service or ambulance transportation. These services will be provided to the extent <br />that manpower and equipment is available and able to provide emergency medical service or <br />ambulance transportation. Such service shall be provided by the City in response to a call for such <br />service or ambulance transportation within the City, and outside the City under provisions of mutual <br />aid agreement or applicable law governing mutual aid. <br />page 2 <br /> <br />at the same time providing for the repeal to not affect any pending claims which the City may have <br />against non-residents for services rendered prior to the effective date of the repeal; and
