` <br />CTTY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002 -101 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 701.02 (PERMIT <br />ISSUANCE) OF CHAPTER 701 OF THE BIISINESS REGULATION <br />CODE ENTITLED "TRAVELING PUBLIC SHOWS OR <br />CARNIVALS", IN ORDER TO REQUIRE OPERATORS OF <br />TRAVELING SHOWS AND CARNIVALS TO CARRYAND <br />MAIIVTAIN AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF LIABILITY <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 701 of the Business Regulation Code regulates the <br />operations of traveling public shows and caxnivals within the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 701.02 of said Chapter, entitled "Permit Issuance," currently <br />requires, as a condition to issuance of a permit from the Director of Public Safety, that <br />operators of traveling shows and carnivals carry and maintain general liability insurance <br />with limits of $100,000/$300,000 for personal injury; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds that said amount of insurance is inadequate to <br />adequately compensate residents who may suffer personal injury at traveling shows and <br />carnivals; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to amend Section 701.02 <br />of Chapter 701 of the Business Regulation Code to increase the general liability <br />insurance coverage which must be carried and maintained by operators of traveling <br />shows and carnivals in the City of North Olmsted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 701.02 (Permit Issuance) of Chapter 701 of the <br />Business Regulation Code, entitled "Traveling Public Shows or Carnivals," which <br />presently reads as follows: <br />"701.02 PERMIT ISSUANCE. <br />No permit shall be issued until the applicant has: <br />(a) Made the deposit and completed the application for the permit referred to in <br />Section 701.01. The permit shall state the exact time when the traveling public show or <br />carnival will remain in the City, a complete list of all traveling public show or carnival <br />employees, their home addresses, next of kin, and such further information as the Safety <br />
