It is the desire of the Council that the ballot for said question sha11 be in <br />substantially the following form: <br />PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />A majority a.ffirmative vote is necessary for passage. <br />Shall Article III, Section 5(a) of the City Charter be amended so as to <br />eliminate the existing charter requirement that the Mayor first obtain <br />the concurrence of two-thirds of the members of Council prior to <br />removing from office the Director of Public Service, the Director of <br />Public Safety, the Director of Human Resources, or the heads of any <br />other City department pr division created by the Charter and <br />appointed by the Mayor, thereby giving to the Mayor the authority to <br />remove these City officials without the approval of Council? <br />0 Yes <br />11 No <br />SECTION 4. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of <br />this Ordinance to the Boaxd of Elections of Cuyahoga County no sooner than July 8, 2002, and no <br />later than September 5, 2002. <br />SECTION S. This Council requests that the Boazd of Elections of Cuyahoga County cause <br />to be duly given an appropriate notice of the special election to be held on November 5, 2002, on the <br />foregoing axnendment to the Charter of this City and otherwise provide for such election in the <br />manner provided by the general laws of the State of Ohio. <br />SECTION 6 The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to cause the full text of such <br />proposed Charter amendmerrt to be published once a week for two cansecutive weeks in a newspaper <br />of general circulation in the City of North Olmsted, with the first publication to be made at least <br />fifteen days prior to the election to be held on November 5, 2002, as provided in Article XVIII, <br />Section 9 of the Ohio Constitution and in Section 731.211 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 7.
