<br />19 One Two and Three-Family, Dwelling Code _ 1305.05 <br />Other means of protection, such as self-closing doors with self- <br />latching devices, which are approved by the governing body, shall <br />be acceptable so long as the degree of protection afforded is not <br />less than the protection afforded by the alazm system described <br />above. <br />J. Where an above-ground pool structure is used as a barrier or where <br />the barrier is maunted on top of the pool structure, and the means <br />of access is a ladder or steps, then. <br />i. The ladder or steps shall be ca.pable of being secured, <br />locked or removed to prevent access; or <br />ii. The ladder ar steps shall be surrounded by a barrier which <br />meets the requirements o#'Section B-103.1, Items A <br />through H. When the ladder or steps are secured, locked or <br />removed, any opening created shall not allow the passage <br />of a 4-inch-diameter (102mm) sphere, <br />K. Hot Tub or Spa: A hot tub or spa shall be equipped with a suitable <br />cover which can be securely fastened and locked when not in use. <br />(Ord. 2002-32. Passed 6-17-97.) <br />1305.05 SUPPLEMENTAL STANDARI?S. <br />The fallowing standards are supplemental to and shall be construed to constitute a part of the <br />One and Two Family Dwelling Code adopted under Section 1305.01: <br />(a) PostingNotice of Application. Immediately upon applicatian for a building <br />permit signed by the owner or his authorized agent, which application shall be <br />filed with the Building Commissioner on forms furnished by him, the Building <br />Commissioner shall cause to have erected upan the property far which a permit is <br />applied for a sign which shall have a norice thereon as follows: "A building <br />permit applied for, plans and plat showing the elevation and grading to be as <br />established on file in the office of the Building Commissioner, City Hall." Such <br />sign shall remain an the premises for which a permit has been applied for, for a <br />period of ten days after the date of the application for the permit. In all instances <br />in which the proposed construction increases the area or cubic cvntent of a <br />building, or involves a building covered by a roof, or such application is for <br />original construction af a roofed structure designed for use as a shelter for <br />persans, animals, chattels vr property of any kind, ar a cambination of such uses, <br />or if such canstruction effects drainage unto or over an adjoining property in any <br />way, the ten day waiting period refened to sha11 be mandatory. It shall be <br />mandatory that upon making an application for a permit required under the <br />Dwelling Gode, other than for electrical work, plurnbing work„ heating appliances <br />and the installation of any other equipment in a structure governed by such Code, <br />that the plans and specifications shatl be filed with the Building Commissioner <br />and remain available for inspection by any person ai the office of the Building <br />Commissioner during the ten day waiting period together with a plst of such <br />property for which application for a building pennit is requested. Such plat shali <br />snow the proposed elevation and grade to be established. <br />
