<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002-5 <br />BY.• COUNCILMAN DEAN MCKAY <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13701 <br />(COMPOSITI0IV) OF CHAPTER 137, ENTITLED <br />"DEPARTMENT OF LAW" OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE <br />CODE, IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CIVIL ASSISTANT A <br />FULL-TIME POSITION, PROVIDE FOR THE CREATION <br />OF A FULL-TIME LEGAL SECRETARY POSITION, <br />PROVIDE FOR CREATION OF A CITY LAW CLERK <br />POSITION, AND ELIMINATE TWO PART-TIME ASSISTANT <br />LAW DIRECTOR POSITIONS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Law has requested that Council create certain new positions <br />in the City Law Department, and eliminate others, in order to better institutionalize the <br />functioning of the Law Department and to better provide for the delivery of legal services to the <br />Mayor, Council, administrative officials, and the boaxds and commissions of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, to provide for efficient and continuous <br />service within the Law Department, as requested by the Director of Law, by providing for the <br />Civil Assistant position to be full-time, by creating and adding to the Department a full-time <br />Legal Secretary to the Department Head, by creating a City Law Clerk position, and by <br />eliminating the second Civil Assistant and the Assistant Prosecutor positions; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 137.01 of the Administrative Code, which currently reads as <br />follows: <br />137.01 COMPOSITION. <br />(a) The Law Department of the City, as provided in Article V, Section 2 of the City <br />Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the Department shall consist <br />of four Assistant Directors of I,aw. One Assistant Director of Law sha11 be the Senior Civil <br />Assistant to the Director of Law; one shall be a Civil Assistant to the Director of Law; one shall <br />be the Police Prosecutor; and one shall be the Assistant Prosecutor. <br />
