CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2002-5 BY.• COUNCILMAN DEAN MCKAY AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13701 (COMPOSITI0IV) OF CHAPTER 137, ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF LAW" OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CIVIL ASSISTANT A FULL-TIME POSITION, PROVIDE FOR THE CREATION OF A FULL-TIME LEGAL SECRETARY POSITION, PROVIDE FOR CREATION OF A CITY LAW CLERK POSITION, AND ELIMINATE TWO PART-TIME ASSISTANT LAW DIRECTOR POSITIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Law has requested that Council create certain new positions in the City Law Department, and eliminate others, in order to better institutionalize the functioning of the Law Department and to better provide for the delivery of legal services to the Mayor, Council, administrative officials, and the boaxds and commissions of the City; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, to provide for efficient and continuous service within the Law Department, as requested by the Director of Law, by providing for the Civil Assistant position to be full-time, by creating and adding to the Department a full-time Legal Secretary to the Department Head, by creating a City Law Clerk position, and by eliminating the second Civil Assistant and the Assistant Prosecutor positions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 137.01 of the Administrative Code, which currently reads as follows: 137.01 COMPOSITION. (a) The Law Department of the City, as provided in Article V, Section 2 of the City Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the Department shall consist of four Assistant Directors of I,aw. One Assistant Director of Law sha11 be the Senior Civil Assistant to the Director of Law; one shall be a Civil Assistant to the Director of Law; one shall be the Police Prosecutor; and one shall be the Assistant Prosecutor.
