<br />(b) The Assistant Prosecutor's primary duties shall be the prosecution of non-police <br />cases, mainly those emanating from the Building Division, the Engineering Division and the <br />Service Department. He shall also prosecute a11 license violations. In the absence of the Police <br />Prosecutor, the Assistant Prosecutor shall also perform the Police Prosecutor's duties. If the <br />Police Prosecutor, for reasons of illness or otherwise, is unable to perform his duties for a period <br />in excess of three days, then the Director of Law shall appoint the Assistant Prosecutor as Acting <br />Prosecutor, and, during such periods, the Assistant Prosecutor shall be paid a salary, in addition <br />to his salary as Assistant Prosecutor, which is equal to the current salary of the Police Prosecutor. <br />In the event that the Assistant Prosecutor caxuiot, for whatever reasons, fulfill the duties of Police <br />Prosecutor in the Prosecutor's absence, then the Director of Law shall appoint a temporary <br />prosecutor who shall perform the duties of the Police Prosecutor in the Police Prosecutor's <br />absence. The temporary prosecutor shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of <br />Ohio. While serving as temporary prosecutor, he shall be paid a salary equal to the cunent <br />salary of the Police Prosecutor." <br />be amended, and, as amended, shall read as follows: <br />137.01 COMPOSITIUN. <br />(a) The Law Department of the City, as provided far in Article V, Section 2 of the City <br />Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the Department shall consist <br />of two assistam directors of law, a legal secretary and a law clerk, a11 of who shall be appointed <br />by the Director of Law. Each of the assistant directors of iaw shall be an attorney in good <br />standing with the Ohio Supreme Court and licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. The law <br />clerk shall be a law student at an accredited law school, or a graduate from an accredited law <br />school. <br />(b) One assistant director of law shall be known as the Assistarrt Director of Law. This <br />shall be a fu11-time position. The Assistant Director of Law shall primarily assist the Director of <br />Law in the performance of his duties, and shall also, when necessary as determined by the <br />Director of Law, assist the City Prosecutar. <br />(c) The other assistant director of law shall be known as the City Prosecutor. This shall <br />be a part-time position. The City Prosecutor shall act on behalf of the City or the State of Ohio <br />in the prosecution of felony and misdemeanor offenses occurring in the City of North Olmsted, <br />and shall perform such other duties as are required by law of municipal prosecutors. <br />(d) The Legal Secretary shall be a full-time position and shall be considered the <br />secretary to the Director of Law. <br />(e) The City Law Clerk shall assist the Director of Law, and shall be paid on an hourly <br />basis. <br />2 <br />
