CITY OF NURTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002 - 57 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE AiITHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH DLMSTED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT W77'H <br />MEDICAL MUTUAL OF OHIO TO PROVIDE THIRU-PARTY <br />ADMINSTRATOR SERVICES, AND A STOP LOSS INSURANCE <br />POLICY, TO THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE CITY'S <br />SELF-INSURED HEALTH CARE PROGRAM FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARIIVG AN EMEItGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City is curremly under contract with Medical Mutual of Ohio to <br />provide third•party administrator (TPA) services in connection with the City's health care <br />plan for City employees; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition to providing TPA services, Medical Mutual of Ohio <br />provides the City with a stop loss insurance policy for medical expenses which exceed a <br />certain dollar amount per person covered by the plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services has surveyed <br />the market for qualified anti cost-effective third-party administrators for the City's self- <br />insurance plan and has determined that the renewal proposal of Medical Mutual of Ohio <br />will result in providing City employees, in accordance with the level of health care <br />restrictions in effect pursuazrt to the various collective bargaining agreemexrts between the <br />City and its bargaining-unit employees, with the most quality health caze services at the <br />least expensive grice; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Persormel and Administrative Services accordingly <br />recommends that the City enter into an agreement with Medical Mutual of Ohio in <br />accordance with its renewal proposal; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />such an agreement with Medical Mutual of Ohio to provide TPA services and a stop loss <br />insurance policy to the City for its employees' self-insured health care plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />z . ?.?_ . , . <br />?,
