<br />1. Where leaks occur from drilling rig, the ground shali be protected with drain <br />pans and the leakage disposed of offsite by the Contractor per environmentai <br />regulations. <br />3.4 DRILLlNG MATERIALS <br />A. No drilling fluids other than potable water rnay be introduced into the borings. <br />B. The Contractor shall not deposit drilling waste and water within any existing <br />stream, or in any manner which violates Loca(, State and Federal laws and <br />regulations. The disposal method of all drilling wasta and water musf be <br />acceptable to the Engineer and the Owner. <br />C. ff required, a temporary casing will be instal(ed to keep the upper consolidated <br />materials from caving and boring. The temporary casing shouid be of steel, <br />Grade B, with a minimum wall thickness of 0.280 inches, with an outside <br />diameter of 5-1/2 inches or 5-3/8 inches Schedu(e 40 PVC and be of sufficient <br />(ength. This temporary casing will be pulfed at the time when grouting of the <br />boring takes place. <br />D. Throughout the entire project, the dri(ler must make all attempts to keep any <br />material that cauld be construed as contaminants from entering the bore holes. <br />In the event that bore hole becomes contaminated due to the neglect of the <br />Contractor, he shall at his own expense, perform such work and supply materials <br />as needed to eliminate the contamination. <br />3.5 SfTE COND(T(ONS <br />A. Clean up work on the site shall be a daily activity. The Contractor should not <br />leave any type of trash or refuse of any sort on the site at any time. <br />B. Final cfean up must be completed prior to final inspection and acceptance of the <br />work. No refuse of any variety shall be buried on the site. The Contractor will <br />dispose of all drill cuttings at a Iocation to be determined on the site. <br />3.6 PROTECTION <br />A. Provide all necessary barricades, shields or temporary wall structures as <br />required to protect adjacent buildings, parking iots, roadways, vehicfes, <br />pedestrians, from water or debris thrown from drilling ar excavating process. <br />3.7 TESTING PROCEDURE <br />A. Perform an in-situ soil thermal conductivity test per procedures approved by <br />IGSHPA. <br />-6-
