D. Polyethylene loop assembfy shall be pressure tested prior to installation. Testing <br />shall be by water pressure, at 100 psi for a minimum of 30 minutes. Resuits of <br />all tests shall be recorded and suppfied to the Engineer upon completion of the <br />testing. <br />E. Flushing a.nd Purging <br />Test loops shall be fiushed and purged of air and flow tested to ensure loop <br />is properly flowing. <br />F. Grouting <br />All vertical GLHE bore holes shall be grouted comp{etely with bentonite clay <br />grout and in conformance with the International Ground Source Heat Pump <br />Association's (IGSHPA) Standards specified in their pubfication "Proper <br />Grouting Procedures for Ground-Source Heat Pump System", and all state <br />and local requirements. <br />2. Since settling of the grouting materiaf may occur after the initial grouting, <br />Contractor shall monitor bore hole and continue adding grout as required. <br />3. Grout material shall be pressure pumped through a one ('t) inch to a one and <br />one-half (1-1/2) inch inside diameter tremie pipe and placed in the bore <br />colurnn from the bottom to the top. Grouting process shall conform to the <br />manufacturer's instructions and "Grouting for vertical geothermal heat pump <br />systems - Engineering Design and Field Procedures Manual", as published <br />by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and IGSHPA, copyright <br />2000. Completed grouted surFace shall be placed at ground level to ensure <br />complete fill of the bore column. <br />3.2 MOBILIZATION/DEMOBILIZATION <br />A. Mobilization shall consist of furnishing at the project site, labor, power, supplies, <br />tools, equipment and performing operations in connection with the completion of <br />the bore hole and required tests. <br />B. Demobifization shall consist of the removal from the canstruction site of all plant, <br />equipment, supplies and personnel after completion ofi the work including the <br />cleanup of all rubbish, litter and waste materials_generated by the Contractor's <br />activities. Drill cut#ings are not to be utilized as part of bore hole construction. <br />3.3 PRE-DRILLING DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br />A. Prior to arrival on-sife, the drilling rig, drill rods, tools and bits shall be clean and <br />free from potential contaminants, such as leaks, excessive grease, oils, gasoline <br />or other substances which could be construed as sucf i. <br />-5-
