D. Polyethylene loop assembfy shall be pressure tested prior to installation. Testing
shall be by water pressure, at 100 psi for a minimum of 30 minutes. Resuits of
all tests shall be recorded and suppfied to the Engineer upon completion of the
testing.
E. Flushing a.nd Purging
Test loops shall be fiushed and purged of air and flow tested to ensure loop
is properly flowing.
F. Grouting
All vertical GLHE bore holes shall be grouted comp{etely with bentonite clay
grout and in conformance with the International Ground Source Heat Pump
Association's (IGSHPA) Standards specified in their pubfication "Proper
Grouting Procedures for Ground-Source Heat Pump System", and all state
and local requirements.
2. Since settling of the grouting materiaf may occur after the initial grouting,
Contractor shall monitor bore hole and continue adding grout as required.
3. Grout material shall be pressure pumped through a one ('t) inch to a one and
one-half (1-1/2) inch inside diameter tremie pipe and placed in the bore
colurnn from the bottom to the top. Grouting process shall conform to the
manufacturer's instructions and "Grouting for vertical geothermal heat pump
systems - Engineering Design and Field Procedures Manual", as published
by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and IGSHPA, copyright
2000. Completed grouted surFace shall be placed at ground level to ensure
complete fill of the bore column.
3.2 MOBILIZATION/DEMOBILIZATION
A. Mobilization shall consist of furnishing at the project site, labor, power, supplies,
tools, equipment and performing operations in connection with the completion of
the bore hole and required tests.
B. Demobifization shall consist of the removal from the canstruction site of all plant,
equipment, supplies and personnel after completion ofi the work including the
cleanup of all rubbish, litter and waste materials_generated by the Contractor's
activities. Drill cut#ings are not to be utilized as part of bore hole construction.
3.3 PRE-DRILLING DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
A. Prior to arrival on-sife, the drilling rig, drill rods, tools and bits shall be clean and
free from potential contaminants, such as leaks, excessive grease, oils, gasoline
or other substances which could be construed as sucf i.
-5-
