CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 75 <br />BY: COUNCIL MEMBER PAUL MILLER <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE FLYING OF THE OHIO BICENTENNIAL <br />FLAG FROM THE FLAGPOLES OF NORTH OLMSTED CITY HALL AND ALL <br />OTHER CITY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS WHERE APPLICABLE FROM <br />JUNE 1, 2002 TO MARCH 1, 2004 IN HONOA CELEBRATI4N AND <br />COMMEMORATION OF THE BICENTENNIAL OF THE STATE OF OHIO, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, on March l, 2003, the State of Ohio will be celebrating the 2001h <br />Anniversary of its admission as the 17'h State of the United States of America; and <br />WHEREAS, North Olmsted has made a significant contribution to the history, <br />culture and progress of the State of Ohio, in various segments of life including industry, <br />the arts, education, sports and entertainment, by the many contributions of North Olmsted <br />residents both past and present; and <br />WHEREAS, North Olmsted is proud to be one of the oldest communities in <br />Ohio, Cuyahoga Coumy, and is proud to be part of "The Heart of It All;" <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE TI' RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII. OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the flag of the State of Ohio be flown from the flagpoles of <br />North Olmsted City Hall and all other City buildings and grounds where applicable for <br />the balance of the one-year period prior to the 200th Anniversary of the admission of the <br />State of Ohio into the United States of America on March 3, 2003, and for the one-year <br />period following thereafter until Maxch 1, 2004. <br />SECTION 2: That residents, businesses and schools be encouraged to fly the <br />flag in the State of Ohio during that time, as well as participate in activities pertaining to <br />Ohio's Bicentennial. <br />SECTION 3: That a11 proper flag protocols, rules and regulations pertaining to <br />the flag of the State of Ohio be followed.
