ONE-WAY MILEAGE $ 6.00 per mile" <br />BE AMENDED AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ IN ITS ENTIRETY AS FOLLOWS: <br />"All residents and non-residents receiving emergency medical service and or ambulance <br />transportation shall pay a utilization charge therefore on a per person, per call basis determined <br />as follows: <br />A. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT $450.00 <br />B. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT WITH OXYGEN $470.00 <br />C. ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT $600.00 <br />D. ONE-WAY MILEAGE $10.00 per mile" <br />SECTION 2: That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2002-103 (which was not amended by <br />Ordinance No. 2002-154), and which presently reads as follows: <br />SECTION 8: That the funds received by the City from all emergency medical <br />services and ambulance transportation billings to non-residents shall continue to <br />be designated to the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund and expended only for safety <br />equipment purchases; and that the funds received by the City from all emergency <br />medical services and ambulance transportation billings to residents shall be <br />designated as follows: (a) Seventy-Five Percent (75%) to the General Fund; and <br />(b) Twenty-Five Percent (25%) to a new Special Fund created by Section 9 <br />below, which shall be entitled the "Emergency Medical Services Fund." <br />BE AMENDED, AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ 1N ITS ENTIRETY AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 8: That all funds received by the City from emergency medical <br />services and ambulance transportation billings shall be designated to the <br />General Fund and expended to meet any of the general needs of the City. <br />SECTION 3: That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, inconsistent or in conflict with <br />this Ordinance, are, to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict, repealed. <br />SECTION 4: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that the City may begin to <br />collect increased fees at the earliest date in 2009 to help address the current budget crisis facing <br />the City, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor.
