Bowen + Associates, Inc. (RLB+A) is pleased to provide this proposal for the
electronic scanning of the Engineering plans and drawings located in the City of North
Olmsted Engineering Department. The following is our understanding of the project scope, W W W . R L B A C O M
and estimate of professional fees:
PRO)ECT DESCRIPTION
The project consists of the electronic scanning of existing Engineering plans and drawings
located in the City of North Olmsted Engineering Department. It is our understanding that
the City wishes to have this information scanned for ease of access for the various City
departments artd for record preservation of this important information. From our
observations, there appears to be around 9,500 drawings found in the flat files and on the
hanging files. The drawings are typically 24"x36" (Arch D-Size), 30"x42" (Arch E1-Size),
12"x18" (Arch B-Size), 22"x34" (ANSI D-Size), and 11"x17" (ANSI B-Size) with the majority
of the drawings being 24"x36". Most drawings appear to be on mylar media while ather
drawings consist of bond, blueline, and veflum mediums. The conditions of the drawings are
average to good with approximately 85% storage in flat files, 15% hanging files, and 5% roll
files.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
• RL[3+A personnel will provide scanning services. Drawings will be transported from
the premises to an offsite facility where the scanning will take place. Scans will be
performed to create an e(ectronic file for each plan. n a c H i r E c r s
. RLB+A will scan all drawings mentioned in PROJECT DESCRIPTION at a resolution
of 300 DPI in ".pdf" (portable document file) file format and ".tiff" (tagged image file
format) file format with a logica( file naming convention. E N c i N E E P s
. RLB+A will arrange a file directory structure system and create a Microsoft Excel
spreadsheet file to serve as a"key" for electronic file retrieval purposes. In the future, c o N s r R u c T i o N
this spreadsheet could also be used to create a searchable database utilized in a M A N A G E R s
future Geographical (nformation System (GIS).
