t, *4 <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEll <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 126 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTIUN A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />(CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009 FOR A PROJECT TO <br />MAKE ADA IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR <br />CENTER, COMMUNITY CABIN AND NORTH OLMSTED PARK; <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CITY FUNDS AS THE LOCAL <br />MA TCH; FUR THER A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ACCEPT THE <br />GRANT IF A WARDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2006-66, a <br />Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) during fiscal years 2007-2009; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing was conducted, has determined that the <br />t'iiy <;f North Olmsted qualifes for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recommending the above entitled project, which involves removing architectural barriers to the <br />North Olmsted Senior Center, Community Cabin and North Olmsted Park; and <br />WHEREAS, said project includes applying for up to the maximum award of a tier two <br />CDBG municipal grant in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) for such <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Pianning to make application for said CDBG partial funding ior said project, to authorize the use <br />of matching funds for construction costs and an additional presently undetermined ainuunt fo?r <br />project administration costs, and to authorize the Mayor to accept the CDBU grant if awarded; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION L• That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Planning to <br />prepare, sign and submit an application for Community Development Block Grant fimds for <br />fiscal year 2009 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the ADA improvement project which <br />proposes to remove architectural barriers to the North Olmsted Seniar Center, Community Cab;n <br />and Noi-th Olmsted Park; does further authorize the use of matching City funds for the project as <br />described in the application, for construction costs and an additional amount as yet undeterrnined <br />Cor project administraiion costs, up to a maximum of One Hundred 'I'housand Dollars <br />($100,000.00); and finally does authorize the Mayor to accept the grant and execute a contract <br />and any and all other necessary papers, if a grant awarded.
