`a (t ?< <L <br />CITY OF NORTA OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2008 - 118 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady and Council Members Dailey Jones and Barker <br />AN ORDINANCE A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PUBLIC SERVICE TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERYICES <br />FOR THE CITY'S DIiTISION OF ENGINEERING; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROYAL OF <br />THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFP <br />PROCESS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council previously authorized the Director of Public Service to <br />request proposals for an outside engineering firm to serve as the City's Division of <br />Engineering and provide general engineering services to the Director of Public Service; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the current contract with the professional engineering firm selected <br />in the said RFP process to obtain said outside engineering services is scheduled to <br />terminate in February 2008; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has requested that this Council again <br />authorize him, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted Codified <br />Ordinances, to initiate a new RFP process to select for a new term the most qualified firm <br />to serve as the City's Division of Engineering and to provide professional consulting <br />engineering services to the Director of Public Service; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Service, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />request proposals from firms qualified to serve as the City's Division of Engineering and <br />to provide such professional consulting engineering services to the Director of Public <br />Service, and further to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the fiim <br />selected in the RFP process and approved by the Board of Control; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CI'lY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CL'YAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he hereby is authorized <br />to request proposals from firms qualified to serve as the City's Division of Engineering <br />and to provide professional consulting engineering services to the Director of Public <br />Service in accordance with the Request for Proposals prepared by the Director of Public
