Ordinance No. 2008-56 <br />(d) Permitted Buildings and Uses bv Conditional Use Permit. The <br />following uses may be permitted in a General Retail Business District if a conditional <br />use permit is issued in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1118: <br />(1) Vehicle repair establishments including engines, body and <br />paint. <br />(2) Animal training facilities and indoor animal boarding facilities, <br />excluding kennels, provided, that, in addition to the cnteria, <br />standards and conditions provided for in Chapter 1118, no such <br />facility shall be located closer than 350 feet from any residential <br />zoning district, and further provided that animal noise and odor <br />must be effectively confined to any such building so used. <br />(e) Definitions. For the purposes of this section, the following definitions <br />shall apply: <br />(1) "Animal hospitals/clinics" means any facility used for the <br />medical treatment of animals, where animals may be boarded <br />only during their convalescence from such medical treatment, <br />and where all operations are conducted completely indoors. <br />(2) "Animal grooming facility" means any facility provided <br />bathing or trimming of domestic animals for a fee, where all <br />operations are conducted completely indoors. This term <br />includes facilities that board domestic animals for a maximum <br />period of forty-eight hours incidental to the grooming services <br />provided. <br />(3) "Animal training facility" means any facility provided training <br />of domestic animals for a fee, where all operations are <br />conducted completely indoors. This term includes facilities <br />that board domestic animals for a maximum period of forty- <br />eight hours incidental to the training services provided. <br />(4) "Indoor animal boarding facility" means any facility where <br />domestic animals owned by another person are temporarily <br />boarded for a fee and whose activities are conducted <br />completely indoors. <br />(5) "Kennels" means any facility used for the boarding, breeding, <br />raising, training, showing, or selling of dogs and/or cats for a <br />fee. Such facilities may include outdoor dog runs. <br />(Ord. 2006-122. Passed 4-3-07.) <br />BE AMENDED AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />1139.01 GENERAL RETAIL BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />(a) Intent. For the purposes of the Zoning Code, General Retail Business <br />Districts are hereby established to meet the shopping, convenience and service needs <br />of the residents of the entire community and shall be established in a manner to protect <br />adjacent residential neighborhoods by regulating the types of business uses, which <br />could create hazards, noise, odors or other objectionable influences. <br />(b) Permitted Buildings and Uses. In a General Retail Business District, <br />land may be used and buildings may be designed, built, altered or used only for one or <br />more of the following permitted uses. <br />(1) Any use permitted in the least restrictive Residence District <br />adjacent to any part of such General Retail Business District <br />4
