BZD Committee - Amended Version <br />public, create undue visual clutter, and pose a llazard to traffic control and safety. <br />1163.15 ABANDONED SIGNS PROfIIBITED. <br />Signs which are abandoned, or which are accessory to an abandoned use of property, are <br />prohibited and shall be removed. A use shall be determined abandoned if it has voluntarily <br />ceased its operations far a period of at least six (6) months, unless the use is typically seasonal. <br />1163.16 OBSTRUCTIONS PROHIBITED. <br />No sign or other advertising structure shall be erected, relocated or maintained so as to <br />prevent free ingress or egress, or block aily light or ventilation openings. No sign of any kind <br />shall be located or attached so as to obstruct enlergency facilities or equipment. No sign, <br />otherwise permitted in this Chapter, supported by or suspended from a building shall hang less <br />than eight feet above a pedestrian path, or less tlian fifteen feet above a vehicular path. <br />1163.17 TRAFFIC HAZARDS. <br />No sign ar other advertising structure shall: <br />(a) Obstruct free and clear vision within sight triangles at any street or vehicular drive <br />intersection defined by a line drawn connecting points lying on each curb line <br />thirty-five (35) feet from the poiilt of intersection of the curb lines. <br />(b) Interfere with, obstruct thc view of=, or be similar in appearance to any authorized <br />traffic sign, signal or device because of its position, shape, use of words, or color. <br />(c) If located within twenty-live (25) feet of a public right-of-way, make use of the <br />words "STOP", "LOOK", "DRIVE-IN", "DANGER" or any other such word, <br />phrase, symbol, character, or any shape, in a manner that causes it to resemble any <br />traffie control device placed in public rights-of-way. <br />1163.18 UNSAFE SIGNS. <br />No sign or other advertising structure slial constitute a hazard to safety or health by <br />reason of inadequate or inappropriate design, construction, repair, or maintenance. <br />1163.19 ILLUMINATED SIGVS. <br />No sign or other advertising structure shali be illwnillated so as to cause objectionable <br />brightness or glare into ar onto any residential premises or any public right-of-way. <br />1163.20 OBSCENE SIGNS. <br />No sign or other advertising structure shall display any obscene matter. <br />1163.21 VEAICULAR SIGNS. <br />Vehicular signs are prohibited. <br />1163.22 MOVING SIGNS. <br />No sign or other advertising struc(ui-c shall have visible moving, revolving or rotating <br />parts or visible mechanical movement of any l:i»ci. <br />1163.23 FLASHING SIGNS. <br />?:?U?r? ?.,? <br />? ? ,
