5.4 The Association agrees to hold the Employer harmless from any and a11 liabilities and <br />damages which may arise from the performance of its, the Employer's, obligations under this <br />Article and the Association shall indemnify the Employer for any such liabilities or damages that <br />do arise. <br />ARTICLE VI NONDISCRIMINATION <br />6.1 The parties to this Agreement agree to continue their policy of non-discrimination as <br />required by applicable law based on sex, race, religion, disability, national origin, color or age, <br />regarding employment, employinent advancernent, working conditions, rates of pay, acceptance <br />into Association membership or selection for apprentice openings. <br />6.2 The Employer and the Association recognize the right of all employees to be free to join <br />the Association, should they so desire, and to participate in lawful Association activities. The <br />Employer and the Association agree that there shall be no discrimination by the Employer or the <br />Association against any employee because of Association membership or non-membership. <br />ARTICLE VII RULES, REGULATIONS, AND ORDERS <br />7.1 The Association agrees that its members shall comply with all Fire Department rules, <br />regulatians and orders, including those relating to conduct and work performance. <br />ARTICLE VIII GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br />8.1 Any employee shall have the right to present a Grievance in accordance with the <br />procedure provided herein, free from any interference, coercion, restraint, discrimination or <br />reprisal. It is the intent and purpose of the parties to this Agreement that all grievances shall be <br />settled at the lowest passible step of this procedure. <br />8.2 The following procedttres shall apply to the administration of all grievances filed under <br />this Article. <br />A. When any of the aforementiQned Grievance conditions arise, the following <br />procedures shall be strictly ohserved: <br />All Grievances shall be typewritten and filed on an Official Grrievance Form. An <br />Official Grievance Form sha11 be provided to the employee by the Association <br />and shall contain the following information at the time the Grievance is presented: <br />The date the Grievance occurred. <br />The time the Crrievance occurred. <br />A detailed description of the incident giving rise to the Grievance. <br />??
