Ordinance No. 2008-84 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL <br />MEMBERS CONCURRING THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Pursuant to Article XVIII, Sections 9 of the Ohio Constitution, and <br />Article XII of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, this Council authorizes and directs <br />that the following proposal to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted be submitted to <br />the electors of the City of North Olmsted at municipal election to be held at the usual places of <br />voting in the City on Tuesday, November 4, 2008: <br />First, that Article III, Section 5 of the Charter be amended by adding a new paragraph <br />(e) to the said Section 5 which shall read as follows: <br />SEC. 5. DUTIES AND POWERS OF THE MAYOR. <br />Second, that Article V, Sections 1, 4, 5 and 6 of the Charter be amended to read as follows: <br />ARTICLE V <br />ADMIlVISTRATIVE OFFICERS AND DEPARTMENTS <br />SEC. 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS. <br />A Department of Law; and a Department of Financ , <br />ie Ser-yi , are hereby <br />established, and the Council shall provided by ordinance for the organization thereof. The <br />Goufteil Mavor may establish or-diftame new departments or divisions thereof. Except <br />as to the two departments °Y aivisio--s •he-eoF established by the Charter, Gettnei} the <br />Mayor may combine or abolish departments and divisions as it he may deem necessary and <br />may authorize one person to be the head of two or more departments or divisions. All <br />appointments and removals in the several departments shall be made by the respective <br />directors. <br />.. (Sections 2 and 3 of Article V to remain unchanged.) ...
