<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2008 - 95 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE <br />NO. 2002-103 WHICH, INTER ALIA, ESTABLISHED FEES <br />AND CHARGES FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />RENDERED BY THE NORTH OLMSTED FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED BY <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002-154, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR <br />THOSE REVENUES RECEIVED FOR SERVICES <br />RENDERED TO NON-RESIDENTS BE PAID INTO THE <br />GENERAL FUND. <br />WHEREAS, in 2002 this Council adopted Ordinance No.2002-103, which, inter• alia, <br />established fees and charges for emergency medical services rendered by the North Olmsted Fire <br />Department, and provided for the funds into which revenues received from services rendered to <br />residents as well as non-residents were to be paid; and <br />WHEREAS, later in 2002 this Council adopted Ordinance No. 2002-154, which amended <br />one of the sections of Ordinance No. 2002-103, other than Section 8 which is proposed for <br />amendment in the within legislation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Finance that <br />revenues received for emergency medical services rendered to non-residents be paid into the <br />General Fund rather than, as currently provided, into the HoteUMotel Tax Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the <br />Administration, to accordingly amend Section 8 of Ordinance No.2002-103, as previa..sly <br />amended by Ordinance No.2002-154, to provide that all revenues received for emergency medical <br />services rendered to non-residents be paid into the General Fund; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 8 of Ordinance No.2002-103, which presently reads as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 8: That the funds received by the City from all emergency medical <br />services and ambulance transportation billings to non-residents shall continue to <br />be designated to the HoteUMotel Tax Fund and expended only for safety <br />equipment purchases; and that the funds received by the City from all emergency <br />medical services and ambulance transportation billings to residents shall be <br />designated as follows: (a) Seventy-Five Percent (75%) to the General Fund; and <br />(b) Twenty-Five Percent (25%) to a new Special Fund created by Section 9 <br />below, which shall be entitled the "Emergency Medical Services Fund."
