12.8 The employer will secure a commercial insuraiice poticy whereby a.ny bargaining <br />unit member killed in the line of duty shall receive to his spouse or estate, a payment af $50,000. <br />Such payment will be made in accordance with the terms of the cammercial plan. <br />12.9 The city sha11 make a reasonable effort wethin six (6) months of this agreement to <br />cause to be implemented the current Health Care Plan as a qualified Plan unaer Section 125 of the <br />Internal Revenue Code. <br />AR`F'ICLE 13 <br />CLOTHING ALLOWANCE <br />13.1 All employees shall maintain duty uniforms as mandated by the Rules and <br />Regulacians. <br />13.2 All new police offieers, immediately upon cornpleting the selection process and <br />? <br />prior to appointment shall be provided two (2) duty uniforms, one (l) uniform cap, one (1) <br />lightweight jacket, one (1) winter jacket, and one (1) pair of boots. AIl clothing provided anci/or <br />clathing allawance paid shail be surrendered to the Employer in the event the Ernplayee fails to <br />complete the probatianary period. <br />13.3 Effective January l, 2001, all fuil-time hargaining unit meinbers shalt receive an <br />annual clothing allowance of One Thousand and Tiiree Hundred ($1,300.00) Dollars payable wiih <br />the first regular pay check in January for the duratinn of this Agreement. <br />13.4 Clothing allowance shall be pro-rated per month in the employee's final year of <br />40" <br />empioyment. <br />19 <br />
