, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted requests the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to discontinue its use of butterfly-type ballots, wherein multiple names or issues are placed on facing pages, in all future elections conducted in this County, and further to expedite its plans to consider electronic balloting in this County. SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forwazd a copy of this Resolution immediately upon its passage and approval to each member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, to each member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners, and to Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell. SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary that this Resolution become effective immediately so that steps can be taken at the County and, if necessary, State level to discontinue the use of butterfly-type ballot forms in Cuyahoga County, prior to the time when ballot forms must be approved for the primary elections in the Spring of 2001, and further provided that it receives an aff'irmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
