fW`been a part-time employee less than one year. If they have been a part-time employee for one <br />continuous year or more; then his probationary period shall be ninety (90) days. During said <br />probationary period, the employer shall have the sole discretion to discipline or discharge such <br />employees and any such action shall not be appealable through any grievance or arbitration procedure <br />contained herein. <br />Section 12.03 If an employee is discharged or quits while on probation and is later rehired, he <br />shall be considered a new employee and shall be subject to the provisions of Section 12.01 above. <br />Section 12.04 A full-time employee shall advance to the next highest pay level within his job <br />description on the anniversary of his date of hire; provided such advancement does not conflict with <br />the GCRTA schedule, and if a conflict arises regarding such advancement, the GCRTA schedule will <br />prevail. <br />ARTICLE 13 <br />PART-TIME EMPLOYEES <br />Section 13.01 The City and the AFSCME Local 3517, NOMBL recognize the need for part-time <br />employees within the Transit Department. However, it is mutualty understood that such part-time <br />employees are intended to supplement the current full-time classifications. It is further understood by <br />both parties that management does not intend to layoff or arbitrarily replace current full-time <br />employees for the sole purpose of replacing with part-time employees. It is understood by both <br />parties that the intent is to replace full-time with part-time as attrition occurs and or the need for <br />additional personnel is required. <br />Section 13.02 Part-time employees shall be permitted to work in any job classification, except <br />may not be permitted to work as mechanics and material handlers. This section excludes work hours <br />credited to summer work programs, seasonal and students. <br />Section 13.03 <br />A. In the c}assification of bus operator: part-time operators will be limited to no more than twenty <br />percent (20%) of the full-time pick roster. The full-time pick roster includes all full-time operators <br />including those full-time who are working Community Circulator routes, as here in after provided. <br />B. A"full-time operator" refers to an employee who is regularly scheduled to work forty (40) hours <br />per week. <br />C. A"part-time operator" refers to an employee working less than thirty (30) hours per week or less. <br />If an employee is not a part-time operator, then he shall be considered a full-time operator. <br />Section 13.04 <br />A. In the classification of hostler: part-time hostlers will be Iimited to a ratio of up to 1.6 part-time <br />hostlers to one (1) full-time. (e.g. 5 full-time hostlers to 8 part-time hostlers. Rounding to the nearest <br />whole number). <br />B. A full-time "hostler" refers to an employee who is regularly scheduled to work forly (40) <br />hours per-week. <br />C. A part-time "hostter" refers to an employee working thirty (30) hours per week or less. If a hostler <br />is not a"part-time" employee, then he shall be considered a full-time hostler. D. In the classification <br />
